Inverkeithing is one of Scotland's oldest Royal Burghs, with a history dating back to Roman times. Little remains of its medieval walls, but historic landmarks include the 5th century St Peter's Kirk, and it was the birthplace of Samuel Greig, the Father of the Russian Navy. Overlooking the Firth of Forth, this Fife town has a proud history in shipping and engineering, and is close to the historic Forth Rail Bridge and Forth Road Bridge. Inverkeithing is an active and thriving community of around 4500 with a rich variety of clubs, societies and businesses, and s1inverkeithing.com has been developed to allow residents to share their news, views and opinions, make announcements, publicise events and display photos and videos.
