Are potholes caused by the big freeze causing problems in Inverkeithing?
The snow and ice may have disappeared for now, but potholes and damaged roads could be a big problem in Inverkeithing in the coming months after the recent big freeze blew a big hole in budgets both for emergency winter maintenance and road repairs.
Despite the efforts of gritting and maintenance teams during the recent bad weather,
a report in the Herald reveals that councils across Scotland are facing an overspend of nearly double on winter maintenance budgets for gritting and snow clearance, with a national bill over nearly £100 million.
