From Costa Rica to Inverkeithing - can you help trace family history?
20 JanuaryA family from Costa Rica with roots in Inverkeithing is setting out on a journey of discovery – and will be visiting the town in April, with hopes of finding out more about their historic links with the town.
Marco Phillips got in touch with s1inverkeithing from Costa Rica, asking for people in town to help him and his family find out more about their ancestors from Fife, who left for America around 150 years ago.
The family will be visiting the town in April. Marco said: “The main reason for this trip is that, after 23 years research, a cousin, who happens to be a genealogist, published the history of our family, tracing our roots back to our ancestors in Fife. It was our dream to go there and visit the country, but we didn’t have any reliable information about our family until now.”
You can find out more about Marco’s family history here in the Memories section of s1inverkeithing
